CAIRO - 5 October 2021: A great story has the power to impact imaginations about the most important issues of the day and film can be used as a tool to change narratives around nature and biodiversity loss.

 

In the context of El Gouna Film Festival efforts to raise awareness about major issues related to environment, sustainability and wildlife, The fifth edition of GFF will present for the first time El Gouna Green Star Award.

 

Feature-length films across all competitions are eligible to win the award’s trophy, certificate and a cash prize of US $10,000.

Cinema has always been a means of uniting people and creating a conversation about the most important conflicts facing the world today.
 
GFF opened its curtains in 2017 with Cinema for Humanity supporting, recognizing and celebrating the influence filmmaking has to positively impact not only the industry, but communities around the world.
 
 
The fifth edition of El Gouna Film Festival  is set to be the biggest and best edition to date as it will house a unique selection of some the best international and regional feature narratives, short films and feature documentaries of 2021, with two international premieres, eight world premieres, and over 80 screenings from 44 countries.
