‘Fashion in Ancient Egypt’ free workshop to be held in Al-Sennari House on October 6

CAIRO – 5 October 2021: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, through Al-Sennari House and the Center for Documentation of Civilized and Natural Heritage, is organizing a free workshop for children and youth under the title "Fashion in Ancient Egypt".

 

 

 

The workshop will be held in Al-Sennari House on October 6 at 11 a.m.

 

 

 

The workshop focuses on introducing the costumes  in ancient Egypt by displaying the drawings and inscriptions found on the walls of temples and terraces, reviewing men's, women's and children's clothing, as well as the types of fabrics used, and jewelry.

 

 

 

The workshop will also shed light on the elegance and sophistication of the special clothes made of linen,called "woven moonlights.".

 

 

 

Also, children will learn how to design some simplified models of these costumes, and jewelry, including the distinguished Pharaonic necklace.

 

 

 

The workshop aims to spread culture, introduce children and youth to the history of their ancestors and their achievements, instill in them the values of belonging and patriotism, as well as develop their creativity and innovation skills, enhance motor performance and self-confidence, and preserve heritage.

 

 

 

Al-Sennari House continues to present its various activities during the month of October, as it presents several activities for children, youth and adults, in order to enrich the cultural, artistic and creative movement in Egypt.
