Michele teams up with Jay Wud for new single ‘Sea In Your Eyes’

 

 

 

 

Rising Dubai singer Michele is back on the airwaves once again with new single ‘Sea In Your Eyes.’

 

The Dubai-based singer has teamed up with influential producer Jay Wud for her new single. 

 

‘Sea In Your Eyes’ is the sound of michele. pushing her sound into new territory. Where her previous releases have largely been Neo-Soul and RnB hits, ‘Sea In Your Eyes’ is a more alternative track. 

 

‘Sea In Your Eyes’ is very experimental compared to the usual type of music I make, it also feels revolutionary,’ says michele. 

 

That revolutionary aspect comes from the new writing and producing arrangement between michele. and Jay Wud. 

 

The single started as an exercise to create a melody and lyrics and then expanded into a full song. And that process resulted in the mellow yet stormy sounds of ‘Sea In Your Eyes’ which has a widescreen, almost cinematic sound to it. 

 

The track follows the sea analogy, building from a calm and gentle start before surging and swelling into the chorus with pulsing drums and fizzing melodies. 

 

And that sense of flow, of ups and downs is represented in the lyrics and inspiration for the track. 

 

“The inspiration behind ‘Sea In Your Eyes’ is Lebanon. I was going back to Dubai after a holiday in Lebanon when I wrote it and I felt this sadness towards the country,” says michele. 

 

michele. manages to capture the bittersweet joy of Lebanon, a wonderful country going through hard times, in her latest single ‘Sea In Your Eyes. 

The single was officially launched at a recent sell-out show at the Fridge Concert Series where michele. played a 40-minute set of original material. 

 

About michele. 

 

Dubai-based michele. started her musical career in 2019 and has already had airplay from BBC Introducing and featured on several high-profile Spotify playlists.

 

She’s performed at several festivals and shows across the UAE including Homegrown in Abu Dhabi and the Al Quoz Arts Festival last year. 

 

She’s released several singles and EPs including last year’s well received ‘Our Story’ concept EP.

 

And with live music returning to venues and festivals, michele. is hoping to take her music on the road and start touring across the Middle East and Europe and once again start ‘connecting with people.’
