CAIRO – 2 August 2021: The 16th Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Book Fair will launch on August 16, to run until August 30.
The book fair comes in cooperation with the General Egyptian Book Organization and the Egyptian and Arab Publishers Association, and with the participation of a large number of Egyptian and Arab publishing houses.
Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Moustafa El-Feki, said that work is in full swing to organize the book fair in a manner befitting the library's standing and cultural weight.
Feki invited the members of the Publishers Union to participate in the book fair organized annually by the library. The largest Egyptian and Arab publishing houses participate in the fair, as about 55 Egyptian and Arab publishing houses participated in the previous session inside the library only, in addition to the establishment of approximately 160 cultural events on the sidelines of the book fair.
It is worth noting that the book fair comes this year amid exceptional circumstances, hence the library’s management decided to conduct the activities of the cultural program for this exceptional edition of the book fair via digital interaction.
This year's cultural program presents a number of seminars and meetings with thinkers and intellectuals from Egypt and the Arab world.
During the previous years, the book fair succeeded in occupying a distinguished position on the list of Arab and international book fairs, establishing its position as a unique cultural window that originates from the city of Alexandria.
