Hurghada Museum designed with latest international standards at a cost of L.E 160 million

CAIRO - 5 July 2021: The Hurghada Museum is one of the most prominent projects implemented by the state during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, for the first time, in partnership with the private sector.

 

 

 

The private sector provided the museum's building and made the necessary finishes for it, in accordance with the requirements approved by the Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities, provided that the Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities alone undertakes the management and supervision of the museum. 

 

 

 

The Hurghada Antiquities Museum is built on an area of  approximately 10,000 square meters, including 3,000  square meters of the museum's exhibition hall where artifacts are displayed. 

 

 

 

2000 artifacts were placed inside the museum from different eras, including Pharaonic, Roman, Coptic and Islamic artifacts.

 

 

 

The museum was designed according to international standards for museums. The museum’s display scenario works to show the beauty and luxury of the Egyptian civilization through the ages. It displays pieces that embody the comforts of homes, their furniture and the adornment tools used by the ancient Egyptians, such as hair decorations, clothes, creams, perfumes and accessories.

 

 

 

The museum’s display scenario also deals with sports aspects such as indigo and wild fishing, as well as musical instruments and pictures from parties with dancing and playing, from the Pharaonic era to modern times, in an attempt to link different civilizations. The museum was also provided with royal pieces from the Mohammad Ali family.

 

 

 

The museum was also secured in partnership with the tourism police, where about 60 high-quality cameras were installed inside and outside the museum managed from inside the camera room adjacent to the museum's tourism police room.

 

 

 

Furthermore, the museum’s building was also fully equipped using the latest scientific museum methods. It was equipped with modern lighting systems and alarms according the latest technologies.

 

 

 

The construction cost of the museum was approximately L.E 160 million. It was inaugurated in 2020.
