Libyan Minister of Culture Mabrouka Othman visits Egypt’s historical Al-Azhar Mosque

CAIRO – 5 July 2021: On July 4, Libyan Minister of Culture & Knowledge Development Mabrouka Toji -and her accompanying delegation- visited Al-Azhar Mosque, on the sidelines of their current visit to Egypt to attend the opening of the Cairo International Book Fair.

The minister and her accompanying delegation were received by the director of the Al-Azhar and Al-Ghouri Antiquities District, who took them on a tour inside the mosque, and gave an archaeological explanation of the mosque's features, history and restoration project.

Libyan Minister of Culture & Knowledge Development Mabrouka Othman expressed happiness with her visit to one of the oldest mosques in Egypt and the world, and her appreciation for the sanctity of this place, its history and its ancient architectural style.
