CAIRO – 30 June 2021: Egypt’s Minister of Tourism & Antiquities Khaled El-Enani met on June 29 with members of the Ukrainian media delegation currently visiting Egypt as part of an introductory trip organized by the ministry's General Authority for Tourism Promotion. This comes within the framework of efforts to promote Egypt as a unique tourist destination for all kinds of tourism.

During the meeting, Enani welcomed the delegation, stressing that Egypt is an ideal destination for those looking for a safe and enjoyable travel experience throughout the year, where they can enjoy Egypt's distinguished and diverse tourist attractions, sunny beaches, picturesque landscapes and ancient civilization.

Moreover, Enani stated that Egypt is keen to exert all efforts to face the global pandemic, as it applies strict precautionary measures and preventive safety controls at airports, hotels and tourist facilities, archaeological sites and museums nationwide.

This is in addition to the state's efforts to complete the vaccination of all citizens, and those who work in tourism in particular, with the anti-Coronavirus vaccine, in order to preserve the health and safety of both the Egyptian citizens and tourists alike.

The minister added that Ukraine is one of the important markets exporting tourism to Egypt, as Ukrainian tourists were among the first tourist groups  to visit Egypt when the inbound tourism movement resumed on July 1, 2020. He also indicated that the ministry's hotline service will soon be activated to receive the opinions and inquiries of tourists in the Ukrainian language.

In response to questions regarding the number of recently opened museums and recommended tourist destinations, Enani noted that more than 20 archaeological museums have recently been opened, the last of which was the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat, after receiving the royal mummies during the Pharaohs’ Golden Parade that was held last April.

Enani further stated that Ukrainian tourists should visit the cities of Luxor, Aswan, Alexandria in order to get acquainted with the ancient Egyptian civilization, in addition to the tourist cities located on the Mediterranean coast.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion had organized an introductory trip for the Ukrainian media delegation, which includes a number of representatives of the largest and most important Ukranian tourism newspapers, television channels and social media influencers . The trip includes visits to the cities of Sharm El-Sheikh, El Alamein and Cairo and ends with a trip to Hurghada.

This introductory trip comes within the framework of the ministry’s keenness to inform the Ukrainian delegation of the different distinct tourist attractions in Egypt.
