CAIRO – 20 June 2021: On June 20 at 4 p.m., Al-Sennari House -affiliated to the Cultural Communication Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, is organizing a unisex workshop for youth on the art of "decoupage".
The workshop focuses on introducing the art of decoupage, its history and development, in addition to identifying its types and the difference between them, the types of glue and gesso and their alternatives, as well as the tools and materials used in decoupage art, and the units that can be used in it.
This is done through several methods, including the Russian method with tissues, printed paper, acrylic colors, stencils, the Shabby Chic method, aging using wax and petroleum jelly, and on leather.
At the end of the workshop, each trainee will make a special piece of art and will learn how to preserve it for the longest time.
Moreover, the workshop aims to teach participants a hobby and a craft whose capital is small for those who want to establish a small project and for everyone who has a hobby of handicrafts, as well as to take advantage of old things and reuse them in a distinctive and attractive way, and decorate them in a professional manner.
The workshop is held on Sundays and Tuesdays of each week for 8 lectures, targeting ages 16 and over.
