CAIRO - 19 June 2021: Aswan International Women Film Festival announced presenting three different workshops during the fifth edition of the Festival that will kick off from June 25-29.

 
 
The first workshop is a “Directing” one led by the famed actress Salwa Mohamed Ali who will give young and aspiring directors the needed skill and instruction to efficiently direct their actors.
 
Rising to fame as Khala Khayreya in the Egyptian Sesame Street, her acting career has since thrived with more than 160 roles on television soaps, films and stage productions, the latest being in the 2021 Ramadan hit series Khali Balak Men Zizi.
 
The "Film Development” workshop will be lectured by advertising and television producer Kholoud Saad who will give participants with already existing projects and short films the needed direction for their development.
 
Discussions on short films and tackling taboos through the medium are a few of the things you can expect from the workshop.
 
Kholoud has worked in several advertising companies and television channels as executive producer, her debut in the film industry as Art Director being in Mohamed Hammad’s award-winning ‘Withered Green’.
 
The film was selected for the Cineasti del Presente Competition at the Locarno Film Festival, making it the first Egyptian film participating in 18 years, and over 50 international film festivals, winning 22 awards including the Production Award at Cairo National Film Festival 2018, Best Director at Dubai International Film Festival and Best Film at Mexico International Film Festival.
 
“The Animation & Cinema for Children” Workshop with visual artist Ibrahim Saad will give young creative minds the tools to translate their ideas onto paper, teaching them the basics of animation.
 
Ibrahim is a Producer, Film Distributor, Visual Arts Curator and Founder and Director of Animation School Project in El Nahda - Jesuit Cairo/ Association for Scientific and Cultural Renaissance 2012.
 
He founded the Artist Archive Project, a seminar presenting and discussing the experiences of contemporary and independent artists have achievements both locally and internationally, and has participated in artists’ residencies and festivals all around the world.
