The joint Egyptian-German mission works on project of restoration,documentation of Esna Temple in Luxor

CAIRO - 15 June 2021: The joint Egyptian-German mission working between the Center of Studies and Documentation at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the Egyptology Department at the University of Tübingen, Germany is currently working on the sixth season of the project of restoration and documentation of  Esna Temple in Luxor.

 
 
Esna Temple is located on the west bank of the Nile in the city of Esna, and dates back to the Graeco- Roman period.
 
 
The temple was dedicated to the god Khnum in the form of a ram, and with him his two wives.
