CAIRO – 31 May 2021: The activities of the 52nd Cairo International Book Fair will launch on June 30, and will run until July 15, at Egypt International Exhibitions Center in the Fifth Settlement, under the slogan "Egypt's Identity: Culture and the Question of the Future".
The Supreme Administrative Committee of the Cairo International Book Fair is scheduled to convene on June 1, 2021, to review the executive mechanisms for holding the 52nd Cairo International Book Fair, at the headquarters of the General Egyptian Book Organization headed by Haitham al-Haj Ali.
It is noteworthy that preparations for the book fair started early, with the launch of a website designated for the Cairo International Book Fair. The design of the website came in line with the Egyptian state's orientation towards technological transformation.
The Ministry of Culture is now designing an electronic portal for various authorities. It includes sites and pages for all cultural publications issued by the ministry, as well as news of the ministry and its affiliated government agencies.
The committee decided that the book fair’s 52nd edition would come under the slogan "Egypt's Identity: Culture and the Question of the Future".
Also, the committee's selection fell on the writer Yahya Haqqi, as the main personality of the 52nd Cairo International Book Fair.
For the first time, the committee decided to choose a main character for the Children's Book Fair, which is the writer Abdel-Tawab Youssef.
The committee also decided the continuation of celebrating the centenary of the writer and translator Tharwat Okasha and the poet Salah Abdel Sabour, through one of the axes of the cultural activities of the book fair, in addition to printing a group of their books as part of the Ministry of Culture's celebrations of the two great writers.
