Important world events:

 

 

1882 - Egyptian Prime Minister Mahmoud Sami el-Baroudi resigns in protest against the acceptance of Khedive Tawfiq to the demands of England and France to deport Ahmed Orabi from Egypt.

 

 

 

1937 - Egypt joins the League of Nations.

 

 

 

1954 - Kamal el-Malakh discovers Khufu’s Solar ships at the Great Pyramids of Giza.

 

 

 

1979 - El-Arish returns to Egyptian sovereignty under the Camp David Accords.
