CAIRO – 9 May 2021: On May 9, the Arab Publishers' Association issued a statement condemning the Israeli occupation forces' attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and all places of worship in occupied Jerusalem.

The statement read, “The heavily armed settlers and soldiers of the Zionist occupation continue to violate the sanctity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and all places of worship in Jerusalem and all of Palestine.

The onslaught of displacement of Palestinians from their places of residence by coercive force intensifies with false allegations, especially in the neighborhoods of Jerusalem, and especially the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, in violation of all international conventions and human rights.

The people of Jerusalem confront them with their bare chests, their strong fists, their raised faces, and their solid will in light of inaction and weak positions from the countries of the world and the region.

The Arab Publishers' Association, with its board of directors and its general assembly, affirms its support and solidarity with the Palestinian people and Jerusalemites, especially in their struggle against the arrogance of the occupation, and their steadfastness and their determination to stay in their homes despite all the arrests they encounter, and the martyrs and wounded falling from among their ranks.

It also affirms its continuing position in support of the Palestinian people's right to freedom and independence and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

The association called on all its members to participate in publishing what is related to refuting the plans of the occupation and settlers, and to share pictures of the honorable steadfastness arriving from the field of confrontation, spreading awareness and calling on the world to provide all forms of support and assistance to those stationed in Jerusalem and its environs.
