CAIRO – 26 April 2021: On April 26, many important events that changed the world map took place.

 

Important world events:

 

 

750 - The Abbasid army enters Damascus, the capital of the Umayyad state, 3 months after the Abbasid victory over Caliph Marwan bin Muhammad in the Battle of Zab. On this day, the Umayyad era, which lasted 90 years, ended. Later, the Abbasids moved the capital of the Islamic state from Damascus to Kufa and then Baghdad.

 

 

1909 - The Turkish Association of Union and Promotion dismisses Sultan Abdul Hamid II and installs his brother Mohammad Rashad as a sultan in his place.

 

 

1935 - Imam Muhammad Al-Ahmad Al-Zawahiri resigns from the sheikhdom of Al-Azhar Mosque.
