CAIRO – 13 April 2021: On April 12, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism & Antiquities Khaled el-Enany, received Ambassador Giampaolo Cantini, the Ambassador of Italy to Cairo, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and archaeological work.

 

 

During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of organizing a celebration marking the 40th anniversary of the rescue of the Philae Temple in Aswan and printing a book narrating the rescue operation that took place.

 

 

Means of promoting cultural tourism from Italy to Egypt were also discussed by organizing introductory trips for the major tour operators from Italy, and studying the possibility of launching charter airlines between Italy and both Luxor and Aswan.

 

 

The meeting was attended by General Supervisor of the Central Department for Public and International Relations at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Counselor Abdel Mohsen Shafi’I and  Director of the Italian Archeology Center Giusepina Capriotti.
