CAIRO – 4 April 2021: The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization received visitors on April 4, after it was inaugurated on April 3 by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, during the ceremony of transferring 22 royal mummies in a majestic procession that dazzled the world.

 

 

From April 4 and until April 17, a 50 percent discount on the price of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization ticket is granted to Egyptians and foreigners to visit the Central Exhibition Hall [Main Hall].

 

 

During the two weeks following the opening of the museum, the Mummies Hall will be equipped and the mummies will be placed in their designated show-cases. The Mummies Hall will receive visitors from April 18, which coincides with World Heritage Day.

The museum’s official page, an online ticketing platform, and an electronic ticketing platform for museum entry tickets were launched.

 

The Central Exhibition Hall [Main Hall] contains nearly 1,600 artifacts, where the visitor will be able to get an integrated idea of the Egyptian civilization and its most important achievements throughout its different eras, starting from prehistoric times through the Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Coptic and Islamic eras up to the modern and contemporary ages. This is in addition to showcasing the Egyptian folklore.

The Royal Mummies Hall include a jewelry set that was designed in the ancient Egyptian era at the highest level of expertise, a group of deities, the war chariot of King Thutmose,  3,000-year-old prosthesis, surgery tools, water and solar clock, a 30,000-year old skeleton, and many more intriguing artifacts.
