CAIRO – 30 March 2021: On April 1 at 8 p.m., the Egyptian Opera House commemorates the 44th passing anniversary of legendary singer Abdel Halim Hafez through a concert held on the Grand Theater.

 

 

The concert’s program includes an anthology of musical masterpieces that came to life as a result of Abdel Halim Hafez's collaboration with giant composers of the time.

 

 

Hafez was born in Sharqiyah in 1929. He joined the Arab Music Institute to study composition in 1943; then he worked for the Egyptian Radio.

 

 

He collaborated with leading composers and poets in Egypt and the Arab world, including Kamal el-Tawil, Mohammad el-Mogi, Baligh Hamdi, Mohammad Abdel Wahhab, Mohammad Hamza and Nizar Qabbani. He presented with them the most successful and immortal works in the Arab Music Library, in addition to several movies and radio series, which achieved great public praise.

 

 

Hafez passed away on March 30, 1977.
