CAIRO – 2 March 2021: Ongoing development cooperation portfolio between Egypt and Switzerland amounted to $ 59.06 million, according to the Egyptian Ministry of International Cooperation.

 

The ministry stated in a statement, Tuesday, that development cooperation consists of grants to finance 7 projects, in the fields of industry, urban development, drinking water, housing, waste management, communications and health.

 

This came during Minister of International Cooperation’s, Rania Al-Mashat, meeting with the Swiss ambassador in Cairo,  Paul Garnier, and the new head of the Swiss International Cooperation Office, Valerie Lecce, to discuss bilateral economic relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and Switzerland.

 

ُhe partnership between the Arab Republic of Egypt and Switzerland extends for more than 40 years, through which the Swiss side contributed more than 700 million Swiss francs to finance the implementation of more than 200 projects in many developmental sectors and the private sector.

 

During 2017, the joint strategy for cooperation 2017-2020 was launched to support the national development agenda in accordance with Egypt's Vision 2030.
