EGX flags in green for 2nd session in row Monday

CAIRO – 22 February 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s session in green, adding LE 4.82 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.09 percent, or 124.12 points, to end at 11,549.97 points.

The equally weighted index EGX 50 hiked 0.70 percent, or 16.62 points, to end at 2,399.87 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 increased 0.55 percent, or 13.13 points, to close at 2,405.19 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 0.49 percent, or 16.66 points, to close at 3,437.08 points

Market capitalization gained around LE 4.82 billion, recording LE 706.29 billion, compared to LE 701.48 billion in Sunday’s session.

The trading volume reached 774.68 million shares, traded through 50,235 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.63 billion. 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 55.91 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 24.79 million, and LE 31.11 million, respectively.

Egyptian, Arab, and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 68.86 million, LE 25.25 million, and LE 3.36 million, respectively.

Egyptian and foreign organizations sold at LE 44.07 million, and LE 59.27 million, respectively, while Arab organization bought at LE 5.86 million.

Rubex International for Plastic and Acrylic Manufacturing, National Bank of Kuwait- Egypt- NBK, and Grand Investment Capital were top gainers of the session at 11.14 percent, 10 percent and 9.95 percent, respectively. 

Meanwhile, North Cairo Mills, El Kahera Housing, and the Arab Ceramic CO.- Ceramica Remas were top losers of the session by 8.19 percent, 7.71 percent, and 7.26 percent, respectively.

On Sunday, EGX ended the session in green, EGX30 rose 0.40 percent, EGX 50 hiked 0.91 percent, EGX 70 increased 1.77 percent, and EGX 100 climbed 1.37 percent.
