Egypt's planning ministry releases 'Citizen Investment Plan' of Kafr El-Sheikh in FY2020/21

CAIRO - 22 February 2021: The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced the features of the "Citizen Investment Plan" in the Kafr El-Sheikh governorate for the fiscal year 20/2021.

 

Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said stated that 353 projects are being implemented in the governorate, and that the value of public investments directed to the governorate in  FY20/2021 is LE 3.2 billion, an increase of 23% over the plan for the year 2019/2020 representing 1, 2% of public investment distributed.

 

El-Said pointed out that the rate of growth in investments financed by the public treasury and directed to Kafr El-Sheikh governorate reaches 10%.

 

About the sectoral distribution of public, El-Said clarified directing investments worth LE 961.4 million to the housing sector (39.8% of the budget allocated to the governorate), and LE560 million to the transport sector (17.4%). The local development sector is receiving LE 545.6 million (16.9%), while the education and technical education sector is getting LE 342.3 million (10.6%).

 

LE 317.4 million (9.6%) are allocated to the water resources and irrigation sector, while LE 496.5 million are going other sectors (15.4%).

 

LE 408 million are allocated to the sector of drinking water and sanitation services, and LE 250 million are directed to the development of slum areas and markets. In the pre-university education sector, 89 schools containing 1,286 classrooms are being established.

 

In the water resources and irrigation sector, the number of barrages and industrial establishments targeted for construction, replacement, renewal, or maintenance is about 54, in addition to targeting the rehabilitation and lining of 40 km of waterways.
