CAIRO – 18 February 2021: Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker said that expansion and replacement works were carried out to raise the efficiency of the electrical network in Fayoum during the period from 2014 to 2020, with investments amounting to LE 320 million.

 

Shaker added in a statement, Thursday, that these investment contributed to the implementation of 10 new dispensers, 212 new transformers, the addition of 140.2 MVA capacity in addition to 157 metal kiosks, and the installation of 1533 medium voltage poles and a number (2104) Low voltage pole.

 

He pointed out that expansion and replacement works were carried out in the medium voltage network by implementing about 370 km of cables and 170 km of connectors, and the implementation of expansion and replacement works in the low voltage network by implementing about 10 km of cables and 1095 km of conductors.

 

Within the framework of the state’s keenness to secure citizens from risks, a number of (155) operations have been implemented within the project of converting medium voltage overhead lines passing through the highest residential blocks in the governorate, with a total cost of LE 80 million, for a length of (70) km, according to Shaker.

 

In the field of keeping pace with technological development and addressing errors in electricity bills, which were among the most important customer problems, (180) thousand prepaid meters and (3600) smart meters were installed.

 

A plan has also been implemented to develop customer service centers in all branches of the company in the governorate in line with the standards and indicators of service center performance, to facilitate contracting procedures by strengthening all engineering with computers and printers, training workers to use multiple programs, and implementing many ready-made programs in engineering, including the one-stop program and suspending Indicative panels for these services are attached to each engineering.

 

The Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy affirmed the interest that the electricity sector attaches to raising the level of service and the electric grid, and stressed the importance of stabilizing the electrical supply and repairing all emergency faults in all regions.
