Egypt's planning ministry releases 'Citizen Investment Plan' of Qalyubia in FY2020/21

CAIRO - 14 February 2021: Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced Sunday the features of the “Citizen Investment Plan” in Qalyubia Governorate for FY 20/2021.

 

 Minister Hala El-Said explained that the number of development projects in the governorate amounts to 301 projects and that the value of public investments directed to Qalyubia governorate is LE 9.6 billion, representing 3.6% of the distributed public investments.

 

Concerning the sectoral distribution of public investments, El-Said indicated that investments amounting to LE 5.5 billion will be directed to the housing sector, representing 57.1% of the budget. On the other hand, the petroleum and mineral resources sector will receive LE 994 million composing 10.3 percent of the budget.

 

 The transport sector is allocated LE 822.5 million (8.6%), the local development sector is receiving LE 512.9 million (5.3%), and the higher education sector is getting LE375 million (3.9%). Other sectors are allocated LE 1.4 billion (14.6%).

 

 The ministry targets delivering natural gas to 85,300 customers, and converting 1,000 cars to work with natural gas in the governorate.
