In a speech read out by Assistant Trade and Industry Minister for Economic Affairs Ebrahim el Seginy at the Egyptian-Kazakh Business Forum in Sharm El Sheikh, Gamea called on Egyptian and Kazakh businessmen to carry out promising projects that contribute to serving both countries.

"The forum is held at a critical time as the world faces the widely-spread coronavirus pandemic," the minister said, calling on regional and international partners to promote joint action to overcome the negative impact of the pandemic and end the decline in global economic growth rates.

The Egyptian state took successful economic measures to strike a balance between achieving positive economic rates and maintaining the health of citizens, Gamea said.

The minister noted that organizing the forum at this critical time is a positive step to encourage trade and investment cooperation between Egypt and Kazakhstan, stressing the importance of increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which amounted to $97.7 million in 2019.
