CAIRO - 18 January 2021: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Monday that the government attaches great importance to replacing obsolete cars with natural gas vehicles as per directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.


The premier made the remarks at a meeting with Ministers Mohamed Maait of Finance, Niveen Gamea of Trade, Tarek el Molla of Petroleum, and Hesham Tawfik of the Public Business Sector.
 

He added that a monthly meeting will be held to follow up the executive implementation of the initiative in the presence of the ministers concerned, and the Tahya Misr Fund.
 

For her part, Gamea said that a website was launched to receive citizens' requests to replace their obsolete cars with new ones running on natural gas.
 

The minister said that 83,000 applicants have registered for the initiative via its website so far.
