Egypt’s exports of jewelry, gemstones hit $2.1B

CAIRO – 21 December 2020: The Egyptian exports of jewelry and gemstones increased to $ 2.162 billion over the period from January to August this year, compared to $1.228 billion dollars during the same period of 2019, according to the monthly bulletin issued by the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractory & Metallurgy Industries (ECBM).
 
 
The exports of jewelry and gemstone represent 54.6% of the sector’s total exports, the ECBM report said, noting about 30 countries, including 6 new countries, have imported jewelry and gemstones in this period, the report said.
 
 
The countries are Madagascar, Austria, Czech Republic, Russia, Croatia, and Kenya.
