Aswan implements 85 projects in road field with cost of LE5.4B

CAIRO – 16 December 2020: Governor of Aswan Ashraf Attia confirmed that the implementation of 85 projects in the field of roads and transport with total funds amounting to about LE 5.4 billion during 2020.

The projects included the construction of three gigantic axes and bridges, which are the free Kalabsha which is planned to be opened soon, and the two axes of Daraw and Aswan Free Reservoir alternative to the old reservoir bridge at a total cost of up to more than LE 4 billion.

The governor added that the implementation of the first phase of the desert road duplication project is being completed in the governorate’s range, starting from Aswan to Edfu, at a cost of LE 540 million, and the re-paving and development of the Aswan Wadi Al-Alaqi road has also been included at an estimated cost of LE 600 million.

He explained that the implementation of the paving plan projects is being completed at a cost of 68 million pounds, with a total length of about 39 kilometers, by focusing on roads that serve the largest sector of citizens, as a number of internal roads have been completed, the most prominent of which is the New Friendship Road from Al Sail side, with a length of 800 m in both directions, the Abbasid and Fares roads in Kom Ombo, with a total length of 3 km.

The Governor of Aswan confirmed that work is underway on paving and raising the efficiency of the second phase of Sadat Road in Aswan City, with a length of 700 meters within a distance of 3.5 km, pointing out that the reconstruction agency for southern Upper Egypt is currently paving and re-efficiency of the alternative road to Sadat Phila - Al Shallal - Mahmoudiya at a cost of LE 3.1 million.

The regional eastern ring road project was implemented in relation to the Aswan Bridge at a cost of LE 472.8 million, in addition to the construction of an overpass for cars above the railway lines and the eastern agricultural road at an estimated cost of LE 120 million, in addition to the implementation of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges the first phase of the duplication project. In addition, the western desert road from Aswan to Edfu at a cost of LE 540 million.
