EGX ends Wednesday on mixed note, market cap. loses LE 3.24B

CAIRO – 18 November 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday session on mixed note, losing LE 3.24 billion of market capitalization, amid foreign selling.

 

The benchmark EGX30 declined 0.67 percent, or 74.26 points, to close at 10,989.72 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 dipped 0.53 percent, or 11.37 points, to end at 2,151.52 points, and the broader index EGX 100 decreased 0.16 percent, or 4.70 points to 2,954.03 points.

 

On the other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 0.19 percent, or 3.81 points, to close at 2,020.27 points.
 

Market capitalization lost around LE 3.24 billion, recording LE 632.96 billion, compared to LE 636.21 billion in Tuesday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 458.6 million shares, traded through 51,995 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.78 billion. 

 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 112.31 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 9.89 million, and LE 12.41 million, respectively. 

 

Egyptian, and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 4.3 million, and LE 2.15 million, respectively, while Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 10.83 million.

 

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 95.59 million , and LE 23.24 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 114.45 million.

 

National Housing for Professional Syndicates, Modern Shorouk Printing & Packaging, and Saudi Egyptian Investment & Finance were top gainers of the session at 9.99 percent, 9.79 percent and 9.72 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, El Kahera El Watania Investment, Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool, and General Company for Land Reclamation, Development & Reconstruction were top losers of the session by 9.96 percent, 8.94 percent, and 8.61 percent, respectively.

 

EGX ended Tuesday session in green,  EGX30 rose 1.01 percent, EGX 50 hiked 2.25 percent, EGX 70 jumped 1.31 percent, and EGX 100 climbed 1.62 percent.
