EGX ends week in green, market cap. gains LE 3.3B

CAIRO – 12 November 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday session in green, adding LE 3.3 billion to market capitalization, amid foreign purchases.

 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.18 percent, or 19.63 points, to close at 11,017.28 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 climbed 0.76 percent, or 15.89 points, to end at 2,118.87 points.

 

Moreover, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 0.78 percent, or 15.35 points, to close at 1,992.24points, and the broader index EGX 100 hiked 0.81 percent, or 23.39 points to 2,912.19 points.

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 3.3 billion, recording LE 628.98 billion, compared to LE 627.94 billion in Wednesday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 494.91 million shares, traded through 50,734 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.66 billion. 

 

Foreign investors were net buyers at LE 41.03 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers at LE 39.5 million, and LE 1.51 million, respectively. 

 

Egyptian, and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 133.23 million, and LE 7.93 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 3.65 million.

 

Egyptian, Arab, and foreign organizations bought at LE 93.7 million,  LE 6.41 million, and LE 37.38million, respectively.

 

Natural Gas & Mining Project (Egypt Gas), Saudi Egyptian Investment & Finance, and Al Baraka Bank Egypt were top gainers of the session at 10 percent, 9.99 percent and 9.83 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, General Company for Land Reclamation, Development & Reconstruction, Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation, and El Arabia for Land Reclamation were top losers of the session by 7.10percent, 6.94 percent, and 5.12 percent, respectively.

 

On Wednesday, EGX ended on mixed note, as: EGX30 dipped 0.72 percent, while EGX 50 climbed 0.49 percent,  EGX 70 rose 1.20 percent, and EGX 100 hiked 0.89 percent.
