EGX ends in green for 2nd consecutive session amid Arab buying

CAIRO – 9 November 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday in green for the second session in row, adding LE 7.23 billion to market capitalization, amid Arab buying. 

The benchmark EGX30 jumped 1.48 percent, or 158.39 points, to close at 10,838.66 points.

The equally weighted index EGX 50 climbed 2.47 percent, or 49.06 points, to end at 2,038.89 points.

Moreover, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 2.38 percent, or 44.58 points, to close at 1,913.83 points, and the broader index EGX 100 hiked 2.43 percent, or 66.3 points to 2,799.05 points.

Market capitalization gained around LE 7.23 billion, recording LE 618.44 billion, compared to LE 611.21 billion in Sunday’s session.

The trading volume reached 458.66 million shares, traded through 48,169 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.37 billion. 

Arab investors were net buyers at LE 43.09 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 22.7 million, and LE 20.38 million, respectively. 

Arab, and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 8.76 million,  and LE 133,682, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were sellers at LE 68.57 million.

Egyptian, and Arab organizations bought at LE 45.86 million,  and LE 34.33 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 30.52 million.

Arab Valves Company, El Kahera El Watania Investment, and Misr Oils & Soap were top gainers of the session at 9.91 percent, 9.16 percent and 8.96 percent, respectively. 

Meanwhile, El Arabia for Land Reclamation, Cairo Pharmaceuticals, and El Kahera Housing  were top losers of the session by 8.08 percent, 3.95 percent, and 2.16 percent, respectively.

On Sunday, EGX ended in green, as: EGX30 jumped 0.48 percent, EGX 50 climbed 0.48 percent,  EGX 70 rose 0.65 percent, and EGX 100 hiked 0.57 percent.
