CAIRO – 15 October 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday session in red, losing LE 1billion of market capitalization, amid Egyptian selling.
The benchmark EGX30 dipped 0.10 percent, or 11.20 points, to close at 11,322.71 points.
The equally weighted index EGX 50 decreased 0.50 percent, or 10.75 points, to end at 2,137.46 points.
Moreover, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 dropped 0.56 percent, or 11.25 points, to close at 1,983.72 points, and the broader index EGX 100 declined 0.50 percent, or 14.67 points to 2,916.58points.
Market capitalization lost around LE 1 billion, recording LE 630.65 billion, compared to LE 630.65billion in Wednesday’s session.
The trading volume reached 321.28 million shares, traded through 40,948 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.1 billion.
Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 66.64 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 30.06 million, and LE 36.58 million, respectively.
Egyptian, and Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 8.13 million, and LE 32.53 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 3.67 million.
Egyptian, and Arab organizations sold at LE 74.76 million, and LE 2.47 million, respectively, while foreign organizations bought at LE 40.26 million.
The Arab Dairy Products Co. Arab Dairy - Panda, Mansourah Pourtly, and El Ahram Co. For Printing and Packing were top gainers of the session at 9.71 percent, 7.78 percent and 6.88 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Medinet Nasr Housing, Golden Coast Company, and Lecico Egypt were top losers of the session by 4.49 percent, 4.30 percent, and 4.05 percent, respectively.
On Wednesday, EGX ended the session in green, as : EGX30 hiked 0.37 percent, EGX50 increased 1.15 percent, EGX70 rose 1.13 percent, and EGX100 jumped 1.09 percent.
