CAIRO - 18 August 2020: The Supply Ministry said Tuesday that the price of subsidized bread will remain unchanged at five piasters per loaf to citizens holding ration cards.

The Ministry will continue to cover the biggest part of the original bread price, which is 50 piasters for each loaf, it assured in a statement.

All types of bread will be of equal weight and diameter, the Ministry said, adding that this is done to tighten control over sold products.

Bakeries that do not abide by subsidized bread standards as indicated by the Ministry will be fined, it warned.
