CAIRO - 17 August 2020:The International Cooperation Ministry has launched a joint cooperation portal to boost economic diplomacy in a way that serves the 2030 development agenda.

This is in line with the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals, said International Cooperation Minister Rania el Mashaat in a meeting with development partners via video conference earlier Monday.

The portal hosts workshops to shed light on development efforts in the different sectors and to define financing priorities in the coming stage, the minister said.

The meeting took up cooperation in projects that are being negotiated as part of a government development plan, particularly in the fields of health, electricity, transport, housing, education and women empowerment, Mashaat added.

She talked about partnerships with the private sector through securing needed funds to local banks.

This is the second meeting with development partners since the launch of the portal. The first meeting was held in April, with more than 120 representatives of international partners taking part.
