EGX ends Sunday in green, market cap. gains LE 7.7B

CAIRO – 16 August 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s session in green,adding LE 7.7 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian purchases.

 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.61 percent, or 176.08 points, to close at 11,120.26 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 climbed 1.94 percent, or 37.60 points, to end at 1,973.40 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 jumped 1.74 percent, or 28.76 points, to close at 1,678.86 points, and the broader index EGX 100 inched up 1.78 percent, or 44.84 points to 2,563.93 points. 

 

 

Market capitalization gained LE 7.7 billion, recording LE 615.66 billion, compared to LE 607.94 billion in Thursday’s session.

 

 

The trading volume reached 581.35 million shares, traded through 46,071 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.54 billion. 

 

 

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 47.27 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 46.08 million, and LE 1.18 million, respectively. 

 

 

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 45.38 million and LE 60.65 million, respectively, while Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 2.33 million. 

 

 

Foreign organizations sold at LE 3.52 million, while Egyptian and Arab bought at LE 92.65 million, and LE 14.57 million, respectively. 

 

 

AJWA for Food Industries company Egypt, Arabia Investments Holding, and Egyptian Iron & Steel were top gainers of the session at 9.82 percent, 9.79 percent and 9.27 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, Kafr El Zayat Pesticides, Delta Construction & Rebuilding, and El Obour Real Estate Investment were top losers of the session by 9.78 percent, 6.50 percent, and 5.98 percent, respectively. 

 

EGX ended Thursday on mixed note as: EGX30 inched up 0.20 percent, EGX 70 increased 0.08percent, while EGX 50 dipped 0.37 percent, and EGX 100 dropped 0.49 percent.
