CAIRO - 19 July 2020: Head of the Tax Authority Reda Abdel Kader said on Sunday that no new tax was imposed on subscribed mobile lines.

However, he said the State's financial resources development fee, that was imposed in 1984, was increased from 10 piasters to 2 pounds.

This raised mobile lines' annual subscription from six to 8 pounds to be deducted from mobile phone charge cards by 68 piasters monthly, he said.

The new raise runs in line with Law no 83 of 2020 on the imposition of the State's financial resources development fees, Abdel Kader said.

He made clear that no increase has been introduced to this fee since it was imposed in 1984.
