Egypt’s agriculture exports hit $1.8B in 9 months- council

CAIRO, July 15 (MENA) – Egypt’s agricultural exports reached $1.821 billion from September 2019 to May 2020, slightly down from $1.89 billion in the same period in previous year by 3.6 percent, the Agriculture Export Council said Wednesday. 


The volume of agriculture exports declined 7.2 percent to hit 3.542 million tons during the reporting period, down from 3.818 million tons during the agriculture export season in 2018/2019, the council elaborated in its monthly report. 

The Arab countries dominated the value of the exports by 42 percent in September 2019 to March 2020, by $627.381 million. 

Agricultural exports to GCC was estimated at $392.512 million while exports to the EU hit $584.375 million.
