EGX ends Monday on mixed note, market cap. loses LE 2.23B

CAIRO – 13 July 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday on mixed performance, losingLE 2.23 billion of market capitalization, amid Egyptian buying.

 

The benchmark EGX30 dropped 0.58 percent, or 64.11 points, to close at 11,007.85 points. 

 

On the other hand, the equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 1.07 percent, or 19.74 points, to end at 1,869.8 points. 

 

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 0.87 percent, or 13.39 points, to close at 1,549.56 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 0.68 percent, or 16.12 points to 2,385.13 points. 

 

 

Market capitalization lost LE 2.23 billion, recording LE 604.51 billion, compared to LE 606.75 billion in Sunday’s session. 

 

The trading volume reached 869.58 million shares, traded through 47,918 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.9 billion. 

 

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 585.86 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 501.46 million, and LE 84.41 million, respectively. 

 

Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 11.11 million while Egyptian and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 6.16 million, and LE 2.14 million, respectively.

 

Egyptian organizations bought at LE 592.03 million, while Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 512.57 million, and LE 82.27 million, respectively. 

 

Ismailia National Food Industries, Prime Holding, and Egyptians For Investment & Urban Development were top gainers of the session at 9.96 percent, 9.57 percent and 9.32 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, El Ahram Co. for Printing and Packing, Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co., and El Ezz Porcelain (Gemma) were top losers of the session by 9.69 percent 6.79 percent, and 6.51percent, respectively. 

 

EGX ended Sunday, in green as: EGX30 rose 1.05 percent, EGX 50 increased 3.34 percent, and EGX 70 climbed 3.98 percent, and EGX 100 jumped 3.46 percent.
