CAIRO - 29 June 2020: Trade Minister Neveen Gamea on Monday affirmed the keenness of her ministry on activating the role of the private sector as a key partner in outlining policies of upgrading the industrial and export sectors.

All decisions and measures adopted by the government throughout the past period came in response to the requests of the business community amidst tough circumstances posed by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the minister added.

Gamea was addressing the fist meeting of the Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council, which was held via the video-conference technique, after its reformation under Engineer Khaled Abu El Makarem.

The meeting tackles the impact of the COVID-19 on the production and export status of chemical companies as well as the council's promotional plan for the coming period.

The Trade Ministry, in cooperation with all the export councils, seeks to achieve a leap in the export rates during the coming period, the minister said, urging each council to determine its targeted markets.
