CAIRO - 28 June 2020: Trade Minister Nevine Gamae has said that the government is keen on a strong new start of the national industry – one that would place Egypt in a suitable position on the international map.

This start should also hone the competitiveness of Egyptian products both on the local and international markets, Gamae said in a speech Sunday as she attended a workshop on “green growth” and how to manage industrial waste and encourage SMEs in Egypt.

Work is underway to outline a statute of an SMEs bill to help achieve Egypt’s development goals, the minister said.

She touched upon efforts to launch a pilot portal to exchange industrial waste among 160 companies, which officially started today.

Awareness programs were also introduced with the aim to build potentials of industrial firms, entrepreneurs and investors, the minister said, adding that a number of workshops were organized with the aim to achieve integration among 117 companies.

Gamae said her Ministry greatly appreciates the important role played by the African Development Bank to support all such activities.
