CAIRO – 14 June 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s session in a semi-collective regression, losing LE 3.71 billion of market capitalization, amid Egyptian selling.

The benchmark EGX30 dipped 0.93 percent, or 100.75 points, to close at 10,731.17 points.

The equally weighted index EGX 50 declined 0.66 percent, or 10.65 points, to end at 1,615.18 points, and the broader index EGX 100 lessened 0.29 percent, or 5.98 points to 2,034.69 points.

On the other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 inched up 0.01 percent, or 0.07 points, to close at 1,283.51 points.

Market capitalization lost LE 3.71 billion, recording LE 570.73 billion, compared to LE 574.44 billion in Thursday’s session.

The trading volume reached 291.04 million shares, traded through 37,904 transactions, with a turnover of LE 780 million.

Egyptians investors were net buyers at LE 38.27 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 9.36 million, and LE 28.91 million, respectively.

Egyptian and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 21.9 million, and LE 277,675, respectively, while foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 7.78 million.

Egyptian organizations bought at LE 16.33 million, while Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 1.58 million, and LE 29.19 million, respectively.

Gharbia Islamic Housing Development, Samad Misr -EGYFERT, and Marsa Marsa Alam For Tourism Development were top gainers of the session at 9.84 percent, 9.82 percent and 9.79 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Emerald Real Estate Investment, Egyptian Arabian (cmar) Securities Brokerage EAC, and EL Ezz Aldekhela Steel – Alexandria were top losers of the session by 7.37 percent, 6.31 percent, and 5.78 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Thursday’s session on mixed note, as: EGX30 dipped 0.93 percent, EGX 50 declined 0.65 percent, EGX 100 lessened 0.35 percent while EGX 70 increased 0.03 percent.
