CAIRO - 23 June 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has approved a law giving a special pay rise of 10 percent of the basic salary to civil servants who are not governed by the civil service law, after the parliament's approval.

The president also endorsed a law on a cost of living allowance of 10 percent of the basic salary, with a minimum of 65 pounds and a maximum of 130 pounds per month for the employees who are not working under the civil service law.

He also approved a law on the minimum annual increment decided by the civil service law.

The president also approved granting an exceptional 7-percent bonus to the employees under the civil service law with a minimum of 65 pounds and a maximum of 130 pounds per month.

He ratified a law on raising pensions by 15 percent and amending some provisions of the social insurance law. He also approved an increase in the military pensions by 15 percent.

He also endorsed amendments to some provisions of the income tax law under which the minimum income tax threshold to 7,200 Egyptian pounds would be raised.

Sisi also endorsed another law allowing the state's treasury to get a percentage of special funds and accounts.
