CAIRO - 7 April 2020: Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el Saaed said nearly 3.8 billion pounds in additional investments were earmarked for the health sector in March to face the coronavirus crisis.

In statements on Tuesday, the minister said that the world economy enters an unprecedented crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Globally, the coronavirus shock is severe even compared to the global financial crisis in 2008 and the Great Depression in 1929, she underlined.

The coronavirus outbreak is having a damaging economic and business impact, as it affects all productive sectors, the real sectors of the economy, the minister said.
