CAIRO - 27 February 2020: Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad and Minister of Planning Hala el Saaed probed Thursday with a mission from the World Bank a project to combat air pollution and climate change impacts.

The move was made during the two ministers’ meeting with envoys from the World Bank in the presence of Qaliubiya Governor Abdel Hameed el Haggan, along with representatives of the ministries of local development, health and international cooperation, among others.

The meeting comes within the framework of continued cooperation between the Environment Ministry and the World Bank with regard to preparing air pollution and environmental health studies, the environment minister said.

The ministry is completing these studies with great effort as per a project to combat air pollution and climate change impacts, Fouad added.

Meanwhile, the planning minister asserted the importance of adding the dimensions of environment and sustainability to national projects, saying this would be carried out in 30 percent of projects in the 2020-2021 investment plan.
