Egypt’s non-oil exports rose to $2.18B in January

CAIRO – 25 February 2020: Egypt's non-petroleum exports rose 4 percent $85 million to $2.188 billion during January, compared to $2.1033 billion during the same month of 2019, recent data from the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) revealed Tuesday.

GOEIC said that exports of Food Export Council hiked to $279 million in January, up from $241 million January 2019, while building materials’ exports increased to $494 million from $447 million in January 2019.

According to the revealed data, exports of engineering and Electronic Goods recorded $183 million in January, up from $168 million in the same months of prior year. Moreover, exports of the "Export Council for Furniture" increased to $44 million during 2020’s first month compared to $42 million in January 2019.

GOEIC stated earlier thatEgypt's non-oil exports recorded $25.49 billion during 2019, compared to $25.14 billion during 2018.
