CAPMAS: Egypt's trade balance deficit drops by 10.8% in December

CAIRO, Feb 25 (MENA) - Egypt’s trade deficit dropped 10.8% year-on-year in December 2019, according to data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Tuesday.

A statement released by CAPMAS said that trade deficit amounted to dlrs 3.45 billion in December, 2019, against dlrs 3.87 billion in the same month of the year before.

Meanwhile, exports rose by 0.5 percent to record dlrs 2.59 billion in December, up from dlrs 2.57 billion in the same month of 2018, according to the statement.

Meanwhile, imports decreased by 6.2 percent to hit dlrs 6.04 billion in December 2019 compared with dlrs 6.44 billion in the same month of 2018, the CAPMAS noted.
