CAIRO - 20 February 2020: Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar has discussed in a meeting with Chinese Ambassador in Cairo Liao Liqiang, at the ministry headquarters, aspects of cooperation between Egypt and China in the air transport domain.

A statement issued by the ministry Thursday said they reviewed an air transport agreement signed between Egypt and China and means to increase air traffic movement between the two countries with Egypt being an important tourist destination for the Chinese people.

The meeting dealt with proposals on the possibility of opening new horizons and investment chances in the civil aviation sector.

The minister praised cultural and political relations binding the two countries given that China is considered a strategic partner to Egypt. He pointed out to Egypt Vision 2030 for achieving sustainable development to attract more investments.

Minister Mohamed Manar said his ministry seeks to increase Chinese tourist movement to Egypt, in addition to air freight and volume of trade between the two countries in the light of modernizing EgyptAir freight.

For his part, the Chinese diplomat said his government seeks to promote partnership with the Egyptian state adding that Egypt is considered profitable market for Chinese businessmen.
