CAIRO, Dec 17 (MENA) - The French Legrand company announced on Tuesday it will expand its activities in Egypt in electrical and digital building infrastructures and is mulling its presence in the New Administrative Capital.

In press statements on the occasion of the global company's launch of one of its modern smart products in Egypt, Legrand CEO Nicolas Hobeilah reaffirmed the company's confidence in investing in Egypt.

The company is thinking of pumping investments into the New Administrative Capital by acquiring some companies to add them to its largest factory in Sadat City that exports 35 percent of its products to Europe and elsewhere in the world, he pointed out.

The Egypt-based factory products are exported to 26 countries in the world including France, Italy, the US, Brazil, Russia, India, China and Mexico, he added.

He noted that the company is working in 90 world countries and hires up to 38,000 staffers. Its revenues reached six billion euros last year with profits of about 770 million euros.

The Egypt-based factory is built over an area of 17,000 feddans and provides 1,200 jobs, he added.

Legrand company is a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures. From installation components and user interfaces to building systems, the Group offers high-value-added products and solutions for commercial, residential and industrial buildings.
