CAIRO – 15 June 2017: As a first step in the application of the new investment law, the Investors Service Center was launched Thursday, according to a Ministry of Investment statement.

Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr opened the center, which she said aims to reduce bureaucratic measures and offers electronic services to investors.

The center would also respond to investors’ inquiries about electronic establishment for companies, investment opportunities in different governorates, free zones and settlement measures of investment disputes.

Located on the premises of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), the center would provide investors with updates on government economic reform measures.

The new investment law is scheduled to be put in effect after adopting its executive regulation, currently being drafted by a joint committee between ministries and relevant authorities.

Last week, Nasr said the executive regulations of the new investment law will be submitted to the Cabinet in a month.

The new investment law aims to facilitate business procedures and accelerate arbitration of business disputes..
