ISMAILIA - 22 August 2019: The State is adopting a new approach to optimize its resources and potentials, said head of the Suez Canal Authority Osama Rabei on Thursday.

The political leadership pays special attention to Suez Canal to turn it to a world trade hub, said Rabei during a meeting with a delegation comprising trainees of a program aiming at rehabilitating Al Awqaf and Al Azhar scholars.

He thanked President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for his continued support of projects aiming at developing the international waterway.

He promised to exert more efforts to increase the revenues of the canal.

After the opening the new Suez Canal, Rabei said the number of ships transiting the waterway is expected to increase from 45 per day to 90.
