CAIRO - 3 September 2018: The short, medium and long-term loans provided to farmers during the 2016/2017 fiscal year hit 9.6 billion pounds compared to LE 11.4 billion recorded in FY 2012/2013, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said Monday.

Short-term loans given to farmers hit LE 5.6 billion in FY 206/2017 against LE 8.2 billion in the year before.

The number of medium-term loans increased by 26.7 percent to stand at LE 3.5 billion in FY 2016/2017 against LE 2.8 billion in 2015/2016.

Long-term loans decreased to stand at LE 446.3 million in FY 2016/2017 against LE 469.6 million in 2015/2016, the CAPMAS report read.
