CAIRO - 28 June 2018: The Supply Ministry announced on Thursday that the prices of food commodities will not change after the latest rise in fuel prices, upon agreement with the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) and the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC).

The announcement was made following a meeting held by Supply Minister Ali Moselhi with FEDCOC Chairman Ahmed el Wakel and FEI Vice Chairman Tarek Tawfik, in the presence of leaderships of producing and importing companies, a statement by the Supply Ministry said.

"The supply chains of producers, importers, wholesalers and retailers will bear the increase of fuel price that affected the cost of transportation," the statement added.

"The attendants reached a consensus on the importance of having the private sector shoulder its social responsibility in this period."

They agreed on finalizing studies, being conducted by the FEI, on the logistic costs whether at ports or at any transport stages with a view to adopting measures meant to reduce them.
